2016 is looking to finish with another record performance for Fusion Stone. We are, of course, thrilled with how both retail consumers and contractors have fulfilled their design dreams and imaginations with Fusion Stone.

There have been many great highlights this year. The project highlights that we have chosen not only look great but demonstrate how versatile Fusion Stone can be.

Let’s get started.

1. Fusion Stone Supports Habitat for Humanity

Fusion Stone feels a distinct responsibility and connection to the concept of community. We endeavour to give back in support of worthy, charitable and not-for-profit organizations and causes.

Habitat for Humanity is one such organization that has been making a real difference around the world for the past 40 years. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is “To mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.” Fusion Stone is a made to measure fit with Habitat for Humanity.

In 2016 Fusion Stone partnered with Habitat for Humanity in the build of one of their homes in Sauble Beach, Ontario. See this video for the details. Fusion Stone is an excellent choice for this kind of project. It looks great, comes with a lifetime guarantee and is extremely cost-effective.

We are proud to have had the opportunity to provide support to this important organization and especially to this project in our own regional community.

2. ELEVATE your Home

Fusion Stone added a great new feature to its mobile app this year. We call it ELEVATE your Home with Fusion Stone.

The Elevate with Fusion Stone App raises DIY to a whole new level by bringing your project to life. For example, upload your own photo and experience what any style or colour of Fusion Stone will look like on or in your home. Alternatively, take the app for a test spin with one of our sample projects.

In three simple steps you can:

  1. Upload your photo – Upload a photo of your home or choose one of the sample homes.raw-house_f
  2. Outline you project – Simply outline the surface you want to see Fusion Stone applied to with a touch of your finger!oulining_600_comp
  3. Choose your stone – Once your outline is complete, choose from any of the Fusion Stone swatches at the bottom of your screen to see your project come alive!overlaying_300_comp

If you haven’t finished your project or just want to hold onto your ideas, save your project and review it anytime you like. There’s no better way to bring an idea to life than with the Elevate with Fusion Stone app.

Don’t forget, the app also gives you access to everything you will want to know about Fusion Stone products, installation, the lifetime guarantee, and much more.

3. Stone in Contemporary Design? Absolutely!

There are some who may argue that stone only works in traditional designs. This example, we believe, puts paid to that way of thinking with tasteful and enduring style.

As in our previous example, this designer chose to use Fusion Stone Great Lakes Raven as a significant component of this undeniably contemporary home design. And does it ever work.

Contemporary design, and this is an excellent example, is frequently characterized by clean, sharp edges and the linear perfection of horizontal and vertical shapes. Notice the dimensions of the windows, column panels and even the roofline of this home to appreciate its modernity.

Fusion Stone, as a complement to this glass and flat panel vision, works to perfection. Not only is it put to superb use both vertically and horizontally but its rugged texture and colour variations contribute as effective counterpoints to the otherwise smooth and flush dimensionality of this home design.

Thanks to Fusion Stone, ultra-modern and traditional not only co-exist but prove the old adage that opposites attract.

4. Rustic Doesn’t Have to be Old

Here’s an updated take on the much loved and highly recognizable rustic inn. This version retains the expected wood and stone but incorporates vinyl siding as a nod to the efficiency of modern materials.

The significant stone component is Fusion Stone Great Lakes Brindle. While providing the durability and rustic impression of stone, Fusion Stone provides the added benefits of no maintenance, a lifetime guarantee, low cost and ease of installation.

Fusion Stone, the stained wooden pillars and beams and the neutral siding combine to produce a satisfying and inviting impression, the perfect complement to a weekend of outdoor adventure.

5. Much More than a Fireplace

What could be more traditional than a stone fireplace? This has been a design standard for centuries from both practical and design perspectives. However, establishing a fireplace as the focal point in a room as enormous and dramatic as this one required a bold and confident mind.

The confidence and boldness have been well rewarded. Despite the unavoidable instinct to take this space in as a whole, the eye inevitably returns to the solid focus of the fireplace.

This cathedral ceiling, taken to the extreme, and the equally jaw dropping beam framework are intentionally impossible to ignore. But what brings it all together and gives the room a less cavernous appeal is the Fusion Stone clad fireplace built to complement, yet moderately constrain the profound dimension and design of the rest of the room.

The large, solid and neutral colours of the furnishings and broad plank flooring each contribute to consolidating this into a pleasantly liveable space but the fireplace, as focal point, is the hero of this story.

6. Curb Appeal and More

This new build has undeniable stopping power. It’s an excellent example of the current trend towards the mixing of materials, high contrast colours and the use of black or dark grey.

The black roofing, window frames and doors merge seamlessly with the Fusion Stone Great Lakes Carbon veneer. The Fusion Stone, in turn, contrasts boldly with the stained siding, producing a balanced yet powerful effect of innovative modernity.

We are glad to have had the opportunity of sharing a few of our 2016 highlights with you and look forward to many more in 2017.
