Designed for Homeowners

Not a pro? No problem. With this clip technology, you do not need to have a full kit of expensive and difficult tools to complete this project. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Tape measure
  • Level
  • Rubber mallet
  • Power drill (the bit is provided in the kit!)
  • Grinder or saw with a masonry blade
  • Safety glasses
  • Plywood or OSB
  • For outdoor projects only you would also need a breathable weather resistant barrier

To complete most stone installations, you can follow these general instructions – it is really that easy!

First, you need to ensure that your plywood or OSB surface is ready to have the Fusion Stone installed directly onto it. This means that you may have to do some framing or affix your plywood or OSB board directly to the surface. Remember that weather resistant barrier is needed for outdoor projects only.

Next, you will install the starter strip. The starter strip is used at the base of all projects, as well as above openings such as windows and doors. The kit comes with stainless steel screws, so you only need to use your level before beginning the install.

If you have a corner, begin the project there. Build out from the corner and ensure you alternate long and short stones, for a beautiful design. The stones are secured using the clips provided, no mortar and no mess!

Continue to lay the stone in the pattern described in your detailed instructions, and use your saw with the masonry blade to cut the end piece to the desired length. The Fusion Stone website has a great combination of instructions, architectural drawings and installation videos to guide you. No matter what your preference for learning a new skill, the website will have a method that works for you.

If you have ever installed stone or tile before, you will appreciate not having to deal with the mess and time it takes to mix mortar. The whole system is designed with ease and simplicity in mind – it comes in a kit with clear instructions that you can follow. Completing your Fusion Stone project in only one day is simple and fun!
