People Make the Difference – Staff Profile

November 25, 2020

It is no accident that Fusion Stone has grown to become the Canadian leader in manufactured thin stone veneer. Product quality, colour selection and fantastic service have all contributed to help make this happen. But at the core of this achievement is a group of talented and dedicated professionals who ensure that our customers receive nothing but the very best every time.

A perfect representative of this is Michelle Lamont. Michelle is responsible for Fusion Stone Customer Service. This is a critical role in any organization because positive customer relations so often rely upon it.

We thought it would be interesting to provide you with a brief profile of Michelle so you could better understand what makes a top-notch Customer Service representative tick.

Most jobs have challenges and Michelle’s is no different. She feels that explaining complex installations over the phone or via email/chat can be a challenge. However, this is overcome, for the most part, with the help of video and photographic tools. Importantly, her wealth of experience and expertise also play a significant role in dealing with customer issues.

That experience comes from having been a Fusion Stone employee for nearly 15 years.  Over that stretch of time Michelle has encountered pretty much every concern that might arise.

The satisfaction Michelle takes in her job is predictable. Being able to answer questions and shed light on what people feel is a difficult situation is a great feeling and the purpose of her job.

Michelle has a favourite Fusion Stone style and colour. It is Great Lakes Stone Raven. But she is the first to admit that the broad style and colour range available from Fusion Stone will satisfy the most discriminating taste.

When asked if she has a favourite Fusion Stone project Michelle was quick to respond that she is particularly partial to any project that has been installed on a commercial, industrial, or farm building.  This kind of application is a great demonstration that Fusion Stone is not just for residential projects.

On a more personal level we asked Michelle several questions. One was “What is your favourite book?” Her reply was “Hello Fears by Michelle Poler.  She takes you on a journey on how to face your own fears whether they are small (terrified of spiders) or big (public speaking) and how to break out of your comfort zone.  Highly recommend to all.”

A favourite vacation spot for Michelle is Veradero Cuba.  She feels Cuba is a down to earth country that makes you take your own lifestyle and demands into a more reasonable perspective.  Plus, the people are the most genuine you will ever meet! Interestingly, from the slow pace of a Cuban vacation, Michelle and her husband opt for Stock Car Racing for their leisure time. She says, “whether we are in the car as an amateur or watching NASCAR on TV, it’s exhilarating. The adrenaline is pumping and you are on the edge of your seat.” She thinks that lazing around with a good book is a great past time as well, especially if you have some Cadbury Milk Chocolate handy.

Fusion Stone is located in the small community of Shallow Lake. Michelle finds the transformation of the lake from full of water between fall and spring and dried up during the summer months to be an amazing sight.

Finally, we asked Michelle to describe the Fusion Stone work culture and what is best about it. She feels that Fusion Stone is her second family.  With time spent chatting, strategizing, problem solving, laughing, and crying, the Fusion Stone work culture is a home away from home!

It’s easy to see, with Michelle as an example, why Fusion Stone takes such pride in its employees and why each and every one is valued and held in such high esteem.
