Great Things in Small Packages
mars 16, 2017
Just like a whisper or grazing touch, the subtle and the nuanced are often just the right expressions to make a meaningful impression.
Our feature project this month is a great demonstration of how a modest, yet unexpected break in continuity can remain in total harmony with the larger design yet deliver that often elusive but desired je ne sais quoi.
In our case, the two entryway pillars have been clad on the lower third with Fusion Stone Great Lakes Raven. This material, although a remove from the general exterior design, is an obvious and creative complement to it.
A touch of stone perfectly suits this neo-traditional house design and the Raven colour blend is a great match for both the walls, entryway floor and step and gable facing. The addition of an address stencil stone (available by custom order from Fusion Stone) on one of the columns not only completes the job but reinforces the fact that even small details can be the difference between good and great.
Perhaps one of the best features of this project is that it could be completed by a DIYer in just a few hours. How satisfying is that?
And remember, Fusion Stone is available in two distinct profiles and comes in multiple colours. It is maintenance-free, guaranteed for life, and available at over 1,500 building supply retailers across Canada.
Watch for our next feature project in April.
